ECHHO

ECHHO joined the UGN group in the Rhody Parade on Saturday, May 21. Our equipment associate, Walt Hill, offered his pickup for a float and it was decorated with two large ECHHO banners and many rhodies. As we drove along the parade route we were gratified by shouts from observers expressing their appreciation of ECHHO. Many thanks were sent our way for the volunteers who make ECHHO the wonderful organization that it is. It was great to feel the gratitude of our community for our organization.

ECHHO’s existence is made possible only by the generosity of donors like you who believe in our mission. The most vulnerable members of our community depend on ECHHO and you for transportation to medical appointments, for medical equipment, for grocery shopping and for other volunteer support services that enable them to continue living independently with dignity. Please, if you can help us stay afloat, give a monetary donation of any amount you feel comfortable with. Donations can be made through UGN by designating ECHHO as the recipient or by sending a check to ECHHO at the address below. Or stop by our office with a donation – we’d love to see you and, if we haven’t already done so, introduce ourselves. Perhaps you’ll even want to discuss volunteering for ECHHO as a driver or as a fill-in office worker to relieve one of our staff if they are away. ECHHO has recently received donations of an electric scooter and two electric wheel chairs. One of those chairs is highly sophisticated in its capabilities and maneuverability, is in new condition and valued at approximately $7,000! This chair has been with us for only about a week and has already been loaned out to a patient with specific needs for which the chair was specially designed. All of our equipment is in constant and growing demand, and these recent acquisitions will surely be put to good use!
