On Friday, September 16th, UGN kicked-off their 2012 Campaign with a celebration honoring their first annual Good Neighbor Award recipient. With Mayor Michelle Sandoval making a proclamation, the award was presented to Linda Cooley for her outstanding contributions as a community volunteer. Serving as a Board member, office manager, and volunteer driver, Ms. Cooley has gone to extraordinary lengths for ECHHO and our clients. Linda’s administrative and interpersonal skills have been instrumental in resolving serious issues that have challenged ECHHO’s future. Her patience and compassion have made immeasurable differences to our care receivers. She is truly a “Good Neighbor Hero” and her Award is richly deserved! Congratulations Linda! We can never thank you enough for all of the dedication and energy you have given in service to the community.

On Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 8:45 am – 3:30 pm at the Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship located at 2333 San Juan Avenue in Port Townsend, a free caregiver workshop will be presented. The event is sponsored by Jefferson Healthcare and the Olympic Area Agency on Aging. ECHHO will have an information table at the event and needs volunteers to hand out literature during the morning shift (8:45-12:00) and the afternoon shift (12:00 to 3:30). Please contact us if you can help. Morning beverages and snacks as well as lunch will be provided. This will be another great opportunity for ECHHO to make itself known to the community.
