Volunteer Driver Tom Larsen Saves the Day

Defensive Driving Course offered by AARPFor ECHHO volunteers who have not yet attended our two day defensive driving course, there is an easy and convenient alternative way to do this. AARP offers an on-line course that is easy and can be done as you feel like it at your own pace. The cost is similar to the two-day classes taken through ECHHO and upon completion, you may be entitled to a discount on your auto insurance. Check out AARP’s website www.aarpdriversafety.org for more information. |
A Message from Executive Director Lori OberlanderIt has come to my attention that at least one volunteer has concerns about our car donation program and how much they charge for their services--suspecting around 50%. The answer is that if the car donation program does not make any money on the sale of a car donated to our program, they pick up the costs. If they make more than $500, we get 75% of the sale and if it is sold for under $500, we get 70% of the sale. I hope that answers any question or concerns you may have about the program. For more information about the V-dac (Vehicle Donation Program), visit their website www.v-dac.com. |
Walt Hill of ECHHO is a Winner both In and Out of the OfficeEarlier this month, Walt and his teammates on the Silver City Brewers Softball Team played in the International World Senior Games held in Saint George, Utah. Their team was victorious in the 65+ age division, winning a gold medal! A serious competitor at golf and softball, Walt is equally serious about doing the best can as ECHHO’s equipment manager, often heroically going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that our clients get the equipment they need to improve the quality of their lives. We are blessed to have Walt on our team! |
