ECHHO Welcomes New Executive Director Ken Dane

Ken Dane

  Ken Dane of Port Townsend has been appointed Executive director of ECHHO. In that capacity, Mr. Dane will coordinate the organization’s various functions including staff supervision, volunteer recruitment, fund raising and outreach activities.
  According to ECHHO Board Chair Tom Branigan, “Ken’s depth of experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors makes a great fit for ECHHO as we continue to set new records of service to Jefferson county residents.”
  Ken moved to Port Townsend in 2006, serving OlyCAP for the next five years as Resource Developer/Grant Writer with responsibility for fund raising and communications. He is a member of the Port Townsend Public Library advisory board.
  Earlier positions included Director of Research for the American College of Preventive Medicine and Vice President of USAssist, Inc. in Washington, DC, and Vice President for AEA International in Seattle.
  Ken is a graduate of Harvard University, with graduate studies at Duke University.

ECHHO Volunteer Dave Stanko Selected as Citizen of the Year

Dave Stanko  A tradition since 1949, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce bestowed their annual award“Citizen of the Year” for 2011. The award was presented to Dave Stanko, one of ECHHO’s volunteers.
  Accepting the award, Dave stated that when he retired from Law enforcement, he ”wanted to find ways to stay involved in the community.” Not only is Dave a volunteer driver for ECHHO, but he is also past President of Port Townsend Rotary, a member of Calvary Church and a participant in COAST’s work at the homeless shelter.
  Dave’s fund raising leadership has been instrumental in the homeless shelter remodeling project as well as leveraging a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grant to help homeless families achieve permanent housing.
  Dave’s personal commitment to working for a stronger and more viable community is exemplary of the values that are important to all of ECHHO’s volunteers.
